Buying The Correct Bike For You

It can seem very hard to find a new bike when you have so many choices. Even for those people who are paid to ride, buying a new bike is hard. Considering the various factors makes purchasing a bike tough. You need to think about safety, comfort, what the bike will be used for, how often the bicycle will be used, where the bicycle will be used and, if we’re being honest: style. Trying to keep yourself informed of all the new choices, as well those just about to be released, can make it really hard to finally choose the bike for you. Here are some of the criteria you should use when you are buying your next cycling bicycle.

Consider how the bicycle brakes, for one. Brakes are very important on a bike, you need to understand how they work and what type you will most likely need for your bike. There are some bicycles that have breaks that are designed to grab onto the wheels and squeeze then in order to stop the motion, and this is great for a hobby rider. For more hardcore cycling on tough terrain you may want some better brakes. These disk brakes are perfect for serious bike use, they sit inside the wheel and will be able to handle heavy use without malfunction.

If you intend to get a road bike then take 9" away from your total inseam. The size of the tires a road bike uses are the reason for this. Road bikes are meant for city cycling—the tires are thinner and work best on concrete paving. For a mountain bike take away 12 inches from your inseam. Again this is to account for the type of tires you will be using. They are thicker and meant for a rockier terrain. You can of course use a mountain bike for road cycling but this isn't supposed to be their primary use.

If you are buying a cycling bicycle for your children, you have an entirely different set of criteria to think about. Durable bikes are best, with wide tires to add stability and brakes that are easy to use. When getting a bike for a kid the way it looks is also incredibly important, children like to look flashy, you will also want to find a well priced bike because your child will quickly outgrow it.

There are lots of things to think about when you are trying to find the right cycling bicycle to fit your needs. It can be a bit tedious Bonuses and frustrating to try and figure out what all you need when you are buying a bicycle. As long as you go about the process slowly and research a little before you go, you should have no problem finding the perfect bike.
